Frequently asked questions
What should I write under a QR code for wedding photos?
Three things: what it does, how to do it, and that no app is needed. For example: "Scan to share your photos with us. Open your camera, point it at the code, tap the link. No app, no sign-up." Guests hesitate when they expect a download, so say explicitly that there is nothing to install.
How big should a QR code be on a wedding sign?
For a table card that guests hold, 2.5 cm (1 inch) is enough. For a welcome sign that people scan from a metre or two away, make the code at least 5 cm (2 inches), and larger if it sits behind a table. A simple rule is that the code should be about one tenth of the scanning distance. Keep a quiet border around it and print it in dark ink on a light background.
Where should I put the photo sharing QR code at a wedding?
Where guests already pause: the welcome table, every dinner table, the bar, the photo booth, next to the guestbook, and on the back of the ceremony programme. One sign is never enough. Guests photograph all evening and only upload when they see the reminder.
Should I include a wedding hashtag on the sign?
Only if you actually want guests posting publicly. Most couples now prefer a private upload link so the photos go to them first. If you use both, put the upload instruction first and the hashtag second in smaller text.
Can I use these wordings with any QR code?
Yes. The wording is independent of the tool. With a raw Google Drive link, guests need a Google account, so avoid promising "no sign-up".
